Shimano Charter Special Reel
The Shimano Charter Special reels are built to withstand the daily use of todays fishing charters. The reels are built with a Graphite Frame and side plates. A quarter turn easy access side plate is an improvement over the already easy to use Turn-Key access, with the 1/4 Turn Easy Access Sideplate, the fisherman flips up the Turn-Key on the sideplate, then rotates it 1/4 turn to open the sideplate for quick adjustments.
An aluminum spool is standard for using wire line, copper wire, lead core, monofilament or todays super braided fishing lines. A barrel handle grip is standard. These single grip handles feature an extended shank with a counter-balancing weight on the opposite end of the grip. This reduces the amount of wobble during high-speed retrieves.
A-RB (Anti-Rust Bearings) are specially treated stainless steel ball bearings that are at least 10 times more corrosion resistant than standard stainless steel ball bearings. An easy maintenance no shield design allows for easy flushing of debris and easy lubrication.
Lighter viscosity lubrication reduces friction and allows the bearings to spin faster and longer.
A Clicker increases the tension on freespool and activates a clicking alarm when a fish bites. A Ratcheting Drag Lever eliminates the chance of the drag lever backing off due to boat vibration, and the detents serve as a reference point as to how much the drag has been increased or reduced.
