Pflueger Arbor Spinning Reel
Winner 2009 Best New Freshwater Spinning Reel
at ICAST International Fishing Trade Show
Since 1881, when Ernest F. Pflueger founded a fish hook company called the Enterprise Manufacturing Company, the Pflueger name has been part of the fishing industry. His son Earnest A. Pflueger took over the family business and founded the E.A. Pflueger Company, he expanded the company from a hook manufacturer to all aspects of fishing tackle and gear. In 1916, the Pflueger Bait cast reel was manufactured in Akron, Ohio, and became a benchmark of the fishing reel industry. The Pflueger spinning reel was introduced in 1954. Over the years Pflueger continues to be one of the world's leading rod and reel manufacturers. Pflueger products are world famous for their innovation, dependability and attention to detail. Pflueger continues to combine pride in craftsmanship and commitment to new technology to create a line of superior fishing products. Pflueger has produced quality fishing products for over 120 years and quality remains their #1 priority. Simply put, Pflueger Products Perform.
The Pflueger Arbor Spinning Reel has 7 ball bearings and is a favorite spinning reel for all types of fishing. The Pflueger Arbor Spinning Reel has a lightweight durable magnesium body and rotor. The Arbor spinning reel has 7 stainless steel ball bearings. All ball bearings are double-shielded stainless steel. Both sides of the bearing are covered with a metal shield between the inner and outer races. This shield helps protect the bearing by preventing dirt and grit from entering the bearing area. The Pflueger Arbor Spinning reel has a one way clutch instant anti-reverse bearing. Also known as a 'one-way clutch' or 'instant anti-reverse', the clutch bearing consists of a number of needle bearings which turn in one direction only. With traditional dog and ratchet style anti-reverse systems the angler experiences some back play in the rotor or handle. The amount of back play depends on the number of teeth on the ratchet, the more teeth the less back play. With a clutch bearing there is no back play which delivers faster, more solid hook sets. The Arbor has a double anodized machined aluminum spool with a distinctive hole pattern to achieve lighter weight. The spool has a large arbor to achieve greater casting distance. The spool is also designed to accept braided fishing line. Sure-Click bail provides an audible signal when bail is fully opened and ready to cast. The bail has an anti-twist titanium line roller. Smooth sealed carbon fiber drag system with an audible drag adjustment. A machined aluminum handle with a soft knob is included. The Pflueger Arbor Spinning reel is convertible to right or left hand retrieve. A spare aluminum spool is included.
